About
Built to solve a real clinic problem.
CareTrack started where most software for private clinics doesn't. Not in a design tool, but in the everyday gap between appointments. The story of what happened in a patient's week was always somewhere, just rarely where the clinician needed it. We set out to keep that thread intact.
Mission
To make continuity feel quiet, premium, and effortless, for patients and clinicians alike.
Our story
Two neuroscientists. One quiet problem.
CareTrack didn't begin in a boardroom. It began between a neuroscience lab and a rehabilitation ward in Zürich. One of us studies the brain for a living; the other helps care for the people whose recovery depends on what happens between visits.
The same pattern kept surfacing in both our worlds: the small wins, the setbacks and the unasked questions of a patient's week were real, but they slipped through the cracks before the next appointment. So we started building, carefully, and with the people on both sides of the desk in mind.
“One of us studies the brain in the lab. The other holds patients' hands on the floor. CareTrack lives in the space between.”
The founders
A small team, who care a great deal.
Ushnik is a neuroscientist completing his PhD at the University of Zürich, where he studies the brain by day. Alongside the research, he has spent years building software people actually use. CareTrack is where those two worlds meet: the rigour of the lab and the craft of good product, pointed at a problem he kept seeing in real clinics.
“I want clinics to feel the rigour of good science and the ease of good software, without ever having to think about either.”
Nina is a neuroscientist and a carer in equal measure. While completing her thesis in fundamental neuroscience, she spends her days where care actually happens, most recently in rehabilitation centres, looking after older patients between and beyond their appointments. From nurseries years ago to rehabilitation wards today, she has cared for people at both ends of life, and seen, first-hand, how much of a patient's story goes unspoken, and how much a little continuity means to the person living it.
“I've held a lot of hands. The least we can do is make sure no one's story gets lost between visits.”
How we work
With clinicians, not at them.
Listening first
Every feature starts in a clinic, not in a design tool. We watch, we sketch, we throw a lot away.
Restraint
We add carefully and remove often. If a feature doesn't make a visit calmer, it doesn't ship.
Honesty
No medical claims we can't substantiate. No invented numbers. No dark patterns.
Team
A small team, in Europe.
We're a quiet group rooted in neuroscience, care and high-assurance software. We prefer to do less, better.
Where we're based
Zürich, Switzerland
With clinical partners across Switzerland, the EU and the UK.
